We booked this hotel because we were flying out of Lisbon so we needed a hotel close by . Location is great . Restaurants and shops close by . Room we got was very spacious and breakfast was good . Staff were just okay . Wish they would smile more though.

We stayed here as part of our self guided tour booked via our tour company, Gate 1. Although the hotel wasn’t within walking distance of the tourist sites, there were always taxis and a metro stop across the street. The lobby was spacious and the front desk was friendly and prompt. The room was tourist class but comfortable and the bed wasn’t hard like the more expensive airport motel we stayed in the first night. There was an updated bathroom and refrigerator in the room. The best part of our stay was the restaurant and buffet breakfast. We ate at the hotel restaurant 2 nights of our 3 in Lisbon and had the best food and impeccable service. Amazing cod and potatoes and duck salad. Highly recommend! The breakfast buffet was also good. The only downside were slow elevators because one set of elevators were being refurbished.

Well located hotel with many transportation options close by. Arrived early but had to wait until exactly 3pm to check-in. Pleasant, helpful staff that seemed to genuinely care. Clean, comfortable room with all the amenities except a fridge that could not be resusitated by maintenance. (It was hot - I needed to store cold beverages). 2 small lifts are inadequate for a 250+ room hotel. Otherwise, pretty good.

We stayed at this hotel when we were in Lisbon in December to celebrate the end of 2023. The hotel is not very far away from Lisbon Oriente (we took a coach from Faro airport where we landed). Looks very small from outside but everything else is clean. Check-in was a bit of wait as larger groups were there. Two small lifts in operation at the hotel but size of lift is enough for us (family of 4) with 4 cabin bags and a large luggage. These lifts were a bit moody but most of time we did not have to wait for long for their services. We had a family room (1 double bed with 1 sofa bed). Room is large and clean, spacious bathroom, and the towels are on the fluffy side but a bit thin. AC worked perfectly well. No kettle, but there is a working fridge and we had a balcony facing the road (no chairs though). We were on the 6th floor, so no particular outside noise was heard to disturb our sleep. Hotel uses compostable paper cups in the bathroom and hotel gave 1 litre water bottle as complimentary, along with paper cups. No English channels on the TV, but that was fine as we all had our own gadgets (wifi is good, by the way). Water pressure was also good for shower, but since there is no shower screen, you might splash a lot of water on the floor if you’re not careful. Hotel also provides basic amenities like shampoo, shower gel, soap bar, etc, but we like their bidet the best as we are ‘water people’ when it comes to cleaning ourself rather than using tissues. Plug point in the room is very limited, so if you stay in this hotel, bring your own extension cable for charging your gadgets/mobiles/etc. Breakfast spread is great in the hotel. Extensive spread of pastries as well as cold breakfast. Cooked breakfast is a bit limited (beans, mushroom, scrambled eggs). There is coffee, juices, tea and cereal too. If you find the breakfast in the hotel too expensive, there is a cafe opposite the hotel (a little walk away) that have some pastries and good coffee too. Location wise, Hotel Roma is right next to/opposite metro and train station so it comes very handy if you want to explore Lisbon. Metro machine has English version, but train one does not, so it is a bit problematic to figure out how to use it. Hotel Roma is just few stops away from the center (Rossio) when you go by train/metro. There are some cafes and restaurants near hotel as well as grocery shops (in case you need more bottle of water, fruit or snacks), and you can order some food from Uber/Glovo (local uberfood) too. There is an option to buy combined bus/metro tickets for a day (about 6 Euros) or combined bus/metro/train for 10 Euros. We find it very useful as we like exploring by hopping on-off public transports (they are on time and clean!!!). Finding taxi from hotel is also not a problem, there were 2 in the wait when we checked out in the morning few days later. Will we stay again in this hotel? Sure, mainly because it is very close to metro/train station (Roma station) so it made us very easy to explore a lot of places.

I was very disappointed with this hotel. It looks very shabby from the outside. The reception area was fine. The room was rather old and small but seemed clean. The staff was nice. My big complaint is that we specifically asked for a quiet room and the room we got (#411) was right beside the elevator (about 30 cms/12 inches) and the trains noise was constant. We barely slept. I do not recommend.
